WESTON ESTATE: GOOD VIBES
Weston Estate is a unique band with electrifying music. They are the latest up-and-coming band hailing from a small town in North Carolina. And they want everyone to know that they are “ya aunty’s favorite boy band.”
The lo-fi, alt band was formed back in 2017 and comprises members Tanmay Joshi (vocals), Srikar Nanduri (guitar), Abhi Manhass (production, bass), Manas Panchavati (vocals), and Marco Luka (vocals). They all started out as being friends and then slowly began to discover their shared love for producing music.
With the exception of Marco Luka, who is Cuban-American, all of the band members are of Indian descent. This is why they have tapped into their Indian roots to create music that is different from all kinds of sounds in the current industry. You will thus find faint traces of quintessential Bollywood sounds in their music.
Soon after forming the band, the boys began producing music on their own in one of the member’s basement. In 2018, without much time to rehearse, the band had their live debut. They were taken aback by the crowd’s rowdy reaction that thoroughly enjoyed the band’s music. This is when the boys began to seriously consider their careers in music and began to realize their potential.
The longtime friends turned musical band is in their second year of college and ready to kickstart their debut in the music industry. They have been signed on by a major record label company called Arista Records and have just released their first music video, “Saturday Nights.” The video has received much praise and garnered the attention of thousands of people. In fact, the band has received over 12 million streams.
Despite their rising fame, Weston Estate is committed to sticking to their roots. This is why their music still contains traces of Indian culture, which helps make their sounds all the more unique and interesting. It is also the reason why the band is currently doing the majority of their music production in-house. This way, they can spend as much time as they need to ensure that they make perfect songs exactly the way they want.
Hence, the band’s current aim is to keep making music for the future. They believe that there is still some time before they begin talking about an album since they want an electrifying album with cohesion. All of this requires a direction and some plan to be put in place, which the band believes it will do much later. For now, their current future plan is to release as many singles as they can and not worry about creating an album. They want to spend time creating independent tracks to form their band’s identity.
With the low-fi, soothing, and catchy music coupled with deep vocals, the music created by Weston Estate is certainly in a league of its own. Their new song and video, Saturday Nights embody the perfect version of puppy love with soothing music and enticing lyrics.
Weston Estate has thus carved out a space of its own and it is clear that they are here to stay.
