BOYBAND: Future Alternative

Survival of the fittest has long been associated with evolution. However, it applies to almost every aspect of life, particularly art. If the world started recognizing everyone who created art, there probably wouldn’t be enough resources to cater to them. While it’s already true for many existing artists, some go beyond those boundaries and create their own definition. Boyband is one of the very few artists who paved their way to becoming a Grammy-nominated producer and made a splash with his recent album “Alone in a boyband.”

Boyband has worked for several big names in the industry, such as Gunna, Lil Nas X, Young Thug, and others. Landing a Grammy nomination was also an achievement Boyband unlocked very recently after working for the same artists.

While collaborations fulfilled some part of his passion, Boyband knew the importance of paving his own path. He worked hard and incorporated every possible style into his work. He describes his approach to music as pretty “borderless” and doesn’t limit himself to mainstream music. He believes one must be versatile when making music, especially when producing for others as it’s the only way to take you ahead.

Interestingly, Boyband doesn’t have a set style of working. He once wrote a song while binge-watching anime for three days straight and was later approached by Billy Martin of Good Charlotte. When Martin came to him for assistance on a new project, Boyband excitedly responded on his Twitter, saying, “Do you even know who you are? You are a legend. Let’s make history together.”

The project involved a blend of various genres and featured Mike Kinsella, an American multi-instrumentalist. All in all, Boyband is known for his undying willpower and blue-collar work ethic across the country. His reputation in LA, in particular, is rather visible or, as one would say, “on full display.” Furthermore, his recent album is nothing short of brilliant as he has incorporated several pop hooks and valuable elements into the lyrics that hit you in all the right places.

His humble beginnings started in Jacksonville, Florida, where he slowly grew as a producer before moving to LA. There, he gathered a whole lot of attention from people in and out of the industry.

He has honed his skills of blending to the extent that he can transcend a singular genre. Boyband’s versatility is not new. He also refers to Kanye, Timbaland, Toro y Moi, WondaGurl, and DeVante Swing as some of his favorite producers.

His recent multi-track project is not his first attempt at exploring a wide array of lyrics and hooks. He has also attempted to unload stories of emotional baggage, dependency on drugs, and abuse in his work by incorporating comforting sounds, contrasting them with painful recollections. His take on the mental turmoil an average individual goes through in life is unique and a pathway for those who wish to seek relatable elements of their life in music.
