In a world where celebrities share every little detail of their lives, Emotional oranges seem to have set their own rules. The duo from Los Angeles, comprising of A (audio engineer/singer) and V (vocalist), first met at a bat mitzvah in 2017, where they both found a mutual love for each other's musical interests.

As their interest in the R&B genre sparked after listening to artists like Sade and Lauryn Hill, they both went on to form Emotional Oranges. Interestingly, no one from the duo wishes to reveal their true identity. This, along with their sultry R&B tunes, has been a major reason behind their growing fandom.

The duo released “the Juice Vol. 1” as their debut EP in 2019 that explored the subject of complexities in romantic relationships. Shortly after, it created an instant buzz among fans who came in large numbers to their shows and also flocked to their social media messages.

Emotional oranges revealed why they like keeping a low profile during an interview and went on to say that identity has a lot more to it than just a name and a face. The duo wanted to create a persona exclusively for their fans so they could see a reflection of their work in it. Moreover, they wished to keep their private lives apart from their professional lives so they wouldn’t have to give up on their usual activities.

When asked about their other day jobs, the duo responded that they are only pursuing music as their full-time job at the moment. However, previously, they had both worked at different jobs to make ends meet.

Emotional Oranges find themselves fascinated by the amount of attention they got in a short span of time. The fact that people connected to their art so well and spent their money to buy their merchandise or see their shows makes the duo even more hopeful for the future.

A and V also shared the back story of how they came up with their song "Your best friend is a hater." The duo revealed how they were greatly influenced by the 90s R&B artists, especially Avant and Donell Jones, and tried to give their track the same bounce.

Speaking of other influences, they both also mentioned how they took references from Michael Jackson, Sade, and Janet Jackson for "Iconic," a song based on seduction. In terms of production, Emotional Oranges look up to the work of Kanye West and Timbaland and wish to create something along the same lines.

Moreover, they wish to incorporate the drum patterns and groove similar to that of Dante Jones from THEY, an R&B duo. Both A and V are highly driven individuals who often project their real-life energies into their music and produce exceptional music for their ever-growing fan base.

The duo has recently given hints about an upcoming tour as the pandemic situation has begun to settle down in some states.
