WHO'S KOFFEE?

Grand Theft Auto 5 wasn’t just known for its brilliant CGI and visuals – it was the music that rocked the world. Koffee was first introduced to the world gaming world when GTA 5 decided to feature her song titled “W” on its OST.

Enter the new face of Jamaican Reggae, Miss Koffee. A tiny, 19-year-old girl with an aura like thunder – Miss Koffee has demanded attention every time she has taken the stage or belted verses into a microphone. She has secured the Jamaica Music Industry Association Awards for the Best Single and over 4 million streams on Spotify.

Driven, ambitious and bold, Koffee has been inspired by reggae all her life, and after experimentation, she managed to pen down a Usain Bolt-inspired track, which caught Columbia UK’s attention along with that of major producers and labels. She also draws inspiration from Chronixx, Protoje and Bob Marley and owes her confidence and musical influence to them.

The vibrant girl who’s in love with her culture sports a look so native that it’s absolutely inspiring. Her love for her roots and culture translates into her music. The videos are as vivid as Jamaica and her lyrics are right from the heart of her country. The artist is also very politically woke and like the new artists of today, calls out the government – bringing back music with meaning, movement and emotion.

The artist is hailed as a tiny powerhouse of beats and melody, and her spirit is definitely reflected in the punchy lyrics she delivers with a pride that’s both admirable and intimidating. Her music does more than just make you move. She creates music with meaning and depth, and for someone so young, she has the spirit as old as the centuries and as bold as the raging sea.

Super cool and definitely a legend in the making, this 19-year-old is actually named Mikayla Simpson. She grew up in the quiet Spanish Town with a single mother. She was growing up to be a pharmacist until she realized it was music that was her calling – after which her life changed. Who knew this shy girl was going to collaborate with Ed Sheeran, Chronixx and even Justin Bieber one day, amassing over 80 million views?

Talented, stunning and definitely a force to be contended with, Koffee is definitely going to make it big – there’s no doubt about that. With the music scene becoming predominantly colored, better and out of this world, Miss Koffee has found her niche and she’s going to claim it.
